Colibri Creative Conservation Solutions fosters meaningful connections between communities and nature through engaging education and hands-on experiences. Our services include envisioning and developing educational programs, bringing environmental learning into schools and other community spaces, coordinating conservation-focused events, designing conservation marketing materials for outreach and tabling events — and much more.
We embrace the principles of civic ecology, recognizing that environmental stewardship often begins in everyday places — community gardens, schoolyards, vacant lots, yards, natural areas, and neighborhood parks — where people come together to connect with, restore, and reimagine their local environments.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone should be environmentally literate and empowered to be actively involved in the ecology of their place.

Broomfield Open Space Action Network (BOSAN) was created to engage the community in caring for Broomfield’s open spaces. It is a collaborative effort with the City and County of Broomfield, the Broomfield Open Space Foundation, the Urban Prairies Project of the Butterfly Pavilion, the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, and Colibri Creative Conservation Solutions.
BOSAN’s purpose is to connect people with nature and empower them to actively contribute to the health of local open spaces. The group launched a series of hands-on events in 2023, including bio blitzes, invasive weed removal, native seed harvesting, and planting. These activities welcomed participants of all ages and educated them on native ecosystems, restoration practices, and the importance of pollinator habitats.
The success of the first year in 2023 led to an expanded 2024 program, with more volunteers and partners joining the effort. BOSAN’s impact continues to grow, with more events planned for 2025 across two open space sites in Broomfield.
Through BOSAN, community members become informed stewards of the environment and play a vital role in preserving and enriching Broomfield’s natural spaces.
